Music has always been a part of me...
As a child, I lived for the spotlight. I took any opportunity I could get to put on a performance for my family to be in a school talent show. My parents like the true angels they are saw my potential and invested in vocal lessons for me throughout my childhood. My voice was my home.
But when I transferred to a high school that didn’t have a choir program, something I had been in for 10+ years, things shifted. I stopped singing. And for years, I quietly shelved that part of myself.
It wasn’t until MANY years later, on the same trip to Europe that also birthed Edge of Ether, that the ember was reignited. In the mountains outside of Marbella, Spain, at a music workshop retreat, I picked up a ukulele for the first time and sang into a microphone in front of 20 people during ceremony. That moment cracked something open in me. It was the first time I had ever used my voice like that. Raw. Exposed. Unfiltered. And not focused on the performative aspect.
Honestly, I haven’t looked back since.
Since that day, I’ve:
-
Invested in vocal coaches, ukulele lessons, and Ableton training
-
Released my first collaboration song called Transcend, now on Spotify
-
Written several original tracks (soon to come!)
-
Performed live on a few stages
-
Shown up confidently at local jam nights, ready to play and play full out
This journey back to my voice has felt like coming home.
Music to me is more than sound... it’s medicine. It’s a way to remember who we are. I believe with my whole heart that when people start opening up to their own voice, deep healing becomes possible and more accessible.
My dream is to continue expanding in this way - to host sound healing journeys, vocal activation workshops, live performances, and (just putting it out into the Universe)... sing onstage with a big DJ one day.
This is only the beginning.
Thanks for being here.
With love and song,
Taylor
